I’d barely been to the places
right on my doorstep.
There were always plenty of spots just a couple of hours’ drive away. I’d hardly been to any of them. It wasn’t really about time. I simply didn’t know they existed: you usually hear about a good place nearby by chance — someone mentions it, or it catches your eye somewhere. And you don’t go where you don’t know to go.
There were trips, of course. Kislovodsk, for one — we arrived and figured out what was around and where to go once we were already there. But the best of it reveals itself later, when you come home and realize how much you missed.
Krasnaya Polyana I took on properly. I built the route piece by piece: searching for places, comparing, narrowing down, pulling it all into a spreadsheet, booking, fitting it together day by day. The trip turned out completely different — there was nothing left to decide on the ground, everything was ready in advance.
That preparation took me weeks. I’d essentially done a travel agency’s job single-handedly. And even so, the plan came out less than perfect — I got some things wrong, missed others.
That’s when I understood a product was needed.
Not “a travel app,” but something that takes all this work on entirely — and does it better and faster than I could by hand.
My name is Alexander Bondarev.
I’ve spent ten years in IT — working with digital products, including artificial intelligence and chat platforms. I know how product development works from the inside: from the first hypothesis to a working service.
I’m not someone who launches a startup for the sake of launching one, so MYLY isn’t just a business to me.
I’m building a product I want to use myself — one that will be useful to everyone close to me, and to you.
In the open.
I share how the work is going — what’s coming together, what isn’t, what decisions I’m making and why. No gloss, no success stories that haven’t happened yet.
To me, this feels like the honest way to build something people will use: in plain sight of the very people it’s being made for.
